Assalamu Alaikum,

First of all, I am amazed to know about your commitment. I hold esteem for you. May be you liked meat much but you have stayed away from it for such a long time. So should all the Muslims do when there is no alternative. And sharing your story with us will definitely help strengthening our iman.

Yeah, there are some great ideas posted already. I would like to modify one of them mentioned by sis Haleema,
If you can find some Muslim friends you can have a get together may be twice a month, if possible. You can have a barbecue. It will not only solve your probs, but it will make things really enjoyable. And nevertheless if you can get into a community you will not feel that lonely and depressed.
thanks to these online forums, as well.

Emillee if youa are an adult ,try to find a way to distribute halal meat to others like yourself,if you are having this problem because of higher prices on halalmeat then others are too. if you are a minor then research vegetarian foods, your health is your second highest priority, do not neglect it any more than you would neglect your need to refrain from halal meat. you need to do both. :salam1

Salam sis Ema.

Human nature usually like the easiest things, but the easiest wouldn't necessarily be the right ones.  To be able to stay away from that meat for two years tells me that you are really a strong woman.  Don't forget that you are rewarded for your patience.  Keep it up.  However, you do have other options.  Why don't you buy a small portion of halal meat for yourself and cook once per week the meal that you wish with halal meat.  On the other hand, if you don't really like red meat, you can get protein from other sources that a family would be eating usually not only you such as fish, white beans.  I suggest you do a research on vegetarian foods that are high in protein.  Another option is to eat halal meat from a restaurant that provides halal meat if it's available in your neighborhood.  Another option is to eat halal meat with the company of other muslim friends.  You can enjoy cooking a meal together and eating together of course if you have access to a kitchen.  In case you don't know how to cook, believe me it is so simple.  Once you try, you will get used to it, and if you need any quick recipes, I'm ready to provide you simple ones to start.

I'm sure that if you felt weak and tried to eat that meat, you won't enjoy it because you know it is not halal meat.

My advice is be strong and:  "Never disobey Allah to please anyone".

Assalamalaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barkatuhu

Very nice and acceptable advise siter Haleema
