Please remember that their are those of us who do not know about Islam.  We are here for our own various reasons yet the same applies to us all.  Anything beyond "healthy debate" is confusing and creates questions to the creditability of ALL involved.  Therefor, it is the responsibility of the wise NOT to engage the fool, but to put support/proof behind his initial statement.  So that all may see it's source.

Perhaps this will help.

One day I was looking at the home of bird nestled in the trunk of a strong tree, but it was only when I had found the hole and could peer inside that I understood that it nurtured the life of the young birds who's parents brought them there.  If I had not changed my perspective, I might not have ever known that tree to have ever done anything beyond serve itself.

Here i would like to respond and to give my opinion on the topic from Aussie Advisor (Watch from whom you take your religious knowledge from!). Why we want to know further about Islam? Sometimes because we just want to know, to follow lifestyle of people within our neighbourhood. With this reason would not give us any benefit and will not change us. God know deeply in our heart. God want truly and sincerely hearts that want to give their hearts and souls to Him. In other word to be a servant of God. When we are truly and honestly give our heart and soul to Him, i believe the God will not let us lost. He will guide us even we meet a wrong teacher. He will tell or guide us which is wrong and which is right. He also will show us the right person that we should learn from.

Only God know everything. We only know what He want us to know. The rest, we just put our effort and he decide it.

May I say that if you go to hell you are not a loser.  :Allah1 in his infinite mercy has decided that it would be best for you to endure unimaginable hellfire and perdition.
This too is a gift from the most beneficent  :Allah1 . So choose to honor  :Allah1 according to his commands as you undestand them.seek to understand them as well as you can given the limited capacity that man has at his disposal.  :Allah1 will judge you and you will deserve whatever  :Allah1 decides.

Slam to all.

I think we have been the most authentic sources of religious knowledge in the form of Quran and Sunnah. Learning Quran with translation and understanding is the best practice to gain the religious knowledge. Then we have a lot of hadith book which are real guidelines addressing each and every issue relative to religion and human life.

Although it is quite necessary to validate the status of the person from whom you are getting religious knowledge and this can be done by analyzing the person in the light of Quran and Sunnah. It depends on the how much sincere you are about gaining accurate religious knowledge and how much effort you can make in this regard.

Islam is not a complex religion, it provides very clear knowledge about every issue. We can study Quran, follow the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w).  So while gaining religious knowledge from some person do validate it from Quran and Sunnah.

May Allah Bless Muslim Ummah and make us the true followers of Quran and Sunnah (Ameen)
