Masha'Allah, a very important thread, great that you posted it brother ^Abdullah, may Allah reward you.



Some falsely claim that for one to embrace Islam, they have to utter the Shahadah (Two Testifications of Faith) infront of two witnesses, or something similar to this.  :what??

I am hoping that one of you (my dears :ulv1 ) may be able to provide me with the proof against this claim?

I needed a bit of help...perhaps infos. I know of a Christian girl who has been looking into Islam and is lookin forward to go on learning more and then inshallah convert. Her soon to be husband is muslim but isn't a religious person himself but masha'allah they both are now looking into Islam together.

They not too sure exactly what steps to take for her to convert.. can someone provide the infos as to what exactly needs to be done?? JazakAllah

What one needs to do when they want to become muslim is to say the following with the intention of embracing Islam and clearing all their previous blasphemy: "I know, believe and declare that nothing deserves to be worhsipped except Allah and I know believe and declare that Muhammed is the Messenger of Allah." Make sure they pronouce the word "Allah" correctly, that they pronouce the final 'h' sound, and make sure they pronounce the strong 'h' sound in the word "Muhammed". If they can not make this sound they can say the name "abal qasim" instead as this is another of the names of our Prophet, and if they can not say the 'q' sound they can say the name "abal gasim" instead. This is all one needs to do to become a Muslim, of course with the intention of embracing Islam with the correct belief and leaving off all blasphemy. I will post more details insha' Allah.

Also, if someone wants to embrace Islam one must make sure they do it immediately, it is not permissible to tell them to wait for even a moment, tell them to embrace Islam first and then you can teach them about the rules of praying and about other matters such as fasting and the like.

It is not the case that the person needs to go to a shaykh to convert or even go to a mosque; they do it at any time, in their home, car, on the street... Just make sure they say it aloud and they have the correct intention i.e. to embrace Islam.
