How To Become A Muslim! Very Easy!

The Two Testifications of Faith are:

I bear witness that no one is God except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad the son of ^Abdillah is the prophet of Allah.

The non-Muslim embraces Islam by believing in the Two Testifications of Faith and uttering them with the intention of leaving out blasphemy.

The first Testification means that no one or thing deserves to be worshipped except God Who is the Creator of everything.

The second Testification states that Muhammad the son of ^Abdillah who was born in Makkah about 1400 years ago is a messenger of God.

He was sent to convey what God revealed to him so that the humans believe in and work with the Laws he received and brought.

He is truthful in all what he conveyed.

The Two Testifications reject the Godhood of anyone or anything other than God.

They confirm the Godhood of God only with the acknowledgment of the message of prophet Muhammad ^alayhis-salat was-salam

The Meaning of the First Shahadah (part I)
« Reply #2 on: Thursday 14 March 2002, 21:50 »
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, to Him belong the endowments and proper commendations. May Allah increase the honor of Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, raise his rank, and protect his nation from what he fears for it. Thereafter:

It is obligatory upon the accountable persons to embrace the Religion of Islam, to remain steadfast to it, and to comply with what is obligatory upon them of its rules, i.e., every accountable person must be Muslim, stay Muslim, and follow the rules of Islam. Among what one must know, believe in, and utter immediately if one was a blasphemer, or else in the prayer, is the Testification of Faith, which is:

“Ash-hadu Alla Ilaha Illallah, Wa Ash-hadu Anna Muhammad-ar-Rasulullah”

sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam.

The meaning of Ash-hadu Alla Ilaha Illallah is: "I know, I believe, and I declare that nothing deserves to be worshipped except Allah, Who is One (Wahid), Indivisible ('Ahad), without a beginning ('Awwal), Eternal (Qadim), Alive (Hayy), without an end (Qayyum), Everlasting (Da'im), the Creator (Khaliq), the Sustainer (Raziq), Knowledgeable (^Alim), Powerful (Qadir), the One Who does whatever He wills:

“ Ma Sha’Allahu Kan, Wa ma lam yasha’ lam yakun.”

Which means: whatever Allah willed to be shall be and whatever Allah did not will to be shall not be, the One Who without His protection no one can evade sinning, and without His help no one has the strength to obey Him:

“ La Hawla wa la Quwwata Illa Billah.”

The One who is attributed with all proper perfection and is clear of all imperfection:

<< Laysa Kamithlihi shay’un, wa Huw-as-Sami^-ul-Basir >>

Which means: There is nothing like Him, and He is attributed with Hearing and Sight.

And Allah knows best.

The Meaning of the First Shahadah (part II)
« Reply #3 on: Thursday 14 March 2002, 21:52 »
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, to Him belong the endowments and proper commendations. May Allah increase the honor of Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, raise his rank, and protect his nation from what he fears for it. Thereafter:

Allah exists without a beginning and everything else exists with a beginning; He is the Creator and everything else is a creation. Every creation that exists, be it among entities or deeds, from the fine dust to the Ceiling of Paradise (^Arsh), and every movement, rest, intention, and thought of the slaves is created by Allah.

Hence, no one other than Allah --be it nature or reason-- creates any thing. Things become existent by Allah's eternal Will, Power, and Knowledge as mentioned in the Qur'an:

Surat al-Furqan, Ayah #2 means: Allah created everything.

He raised all the creation from the state of non-existence into the state of existence. No one creates with this meaning of creating except Allah.

Surat Fatir, Ayah #3 means: No one is the Creator except Allah.

An-Nasafiyy said: "If a person hit glass with a stone and broke it, then the acts of hitting

and breaking and the state of being broken were created by Allah. The slave only acquires the act. Allah is the only One who creates.”

Surat al-Baqarah, Ayah #286 means: Every self will be rewarded by Allah for the

good deeds it acquired and will be accountable for the sins it acquired.

And Allah knows best.

How To Become A Muslim! Very Easy!

Essalamou 3alaykom

One peace loving sister wrote me asking about becoming a muslim.

She said :
Quote

Thank a lot Mr. Islami for you guidance .Now my question ( and hope
> to express it well in writing ):
> I understand that there are two arabic versus that a non-muslim
> should state infront of others so he can be a muslim .And must be
> pronounced exactly .So for a non arabic tongue who cannot make the
> exact pronounciation will his be accepted . ie will he be turned to a
> muslim and is that all .
>
> I hope this was clear enough .

Dear sister,

I find your question of extreme importance and I thank you for asking it!

In fact, when the prophet came to people in Mekka calling them to embrace Islam, he simply told them what means :

Quote
Say, I strictly believe and affirm that there is NO God but Allah
يا أيها الناس قولوا لا إله إلا الله تفلحوا

As you can see, sister, the prophet made it clear that this is the GATE to islam!!  To believe that Allah is THE only God, and that the prophet Mouhammad is His messenger....

Thus, scholars of Islam made it clear in many of their books that the way to become a muslim is to pronounce theose two "Statements" and to believe in their meaning, fully.

Many of our scholars of islam did mention very clearly that it is NOT a condition to say those Statements (called Shahadatayn) in arabic.... It is good enough to become a muslim to pronounce those two statements in any language you know, and to believe in their meaning in your heart, strongly and without any hesitation.

Those Shahadatayn say:
I strongly believe and definitely confirm that NO one is God (no one deserves to be worshipped) but Allah, and that Mouhammad is His honest prophet and messenger.

أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأشهد أن محمّدا رسول الله
in latin letters,
Ash-hadu an la ilaaha illallaah, wa ash-hadu anna Mouhammadan rasooloullaah.

This fact was actually confirmed in many of the prophet's sayings...
For example, the prophet told his companion Abou Dhar alghifary
once:

Certainly would enter the paradise he who says There is NO God but Allah, as long as there is an atom (any very tiny quantity) of Belief.

يدخل الجنة من قال لا إله إلا الله ، وفي قلبه وزن ذرة من إيمان

The prophet also said : Oh son of Khattab, tell people that noone enters paradise but a Believer

ناد يا ابن الخطاب أنه لا يدخل الجنة إلا نفس مؤمنة

As you can see, the right belief is  the most important thing for a muslim, as all acts of worshipping would only be accepted once this condition is met.

Now after this, muslims are on many grades.... Totally regardless of their origin, social status, color, race, or ethnic background, a muslim is a better person when he follows the teachings of the prophet more closely ...

A muslim who does the 5 prayers everyday, is better than the muslim who does not.

A muslim who fasts in Ramadan, is better than the one who does not.

A muslim who visits his family, is better than the muslim who does not.

A muslim who treats with kindness and compassion his muslim family and friends, AND his NON muslim family and friends to call them to islam, is definitely better than the one who treats them roughly.

But they are all called muslims, the one who prays, and the one who does not, the who fasts, and the one who does not, as long as the right doctrine is there in their hearts....

May Allah guide you and me, my sister, to follow the path of the prophet, صلى الله عليه وسلم  and to be better persons everyday.

I strongly encourage you to embrace Islam if you are not already a muslim, and I would be Extremely honored if via this web portal, you find islam....

Please accept this  (F) :$ (F)  from me anyway....
