If you take alcohol as a medication, or if it is in products which aren't consumable, like hygiene gel, then alcohol is allowed, but we should try and find alternatives as well.

Dear zainali123;

Kindly note that we are not allowed to consume it even as medicine.
And now a day there are so many alternatives, that we are not limited to those which alcohol is one of its ingredients.

Just wanted to clear this point, so others will not miss understand your answer.

The  use of any sort of the intoxicants are forbidden in Islam. There are various  verses of Quran which tell that use  of intoxicants is something truly inappropriate. Offering prayers while in the  state of intoxication is strictly forbidden.  "O ye who believe!  approach not prayers with a mind befogged...." Surah An-Nisa.

One  of the most significant and dangerous of the intoxicants is the alcohol. The  consumption of alcohol has very harmful effects on health. Quran presents its  view of drinking alcohol as “They ask thee concerning wine and gamblingSay: "In  them is a great sin, and (some) benefit for men, but the sin of them is greater  than their benefit."Surah Al-Baqrah.

Now  let’s see how the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) has viewed drinking of alcohol.

 Al-Tirmidhi #2776 Narrated Anas ibn Malik  "Allah's Messenger cursed ten people in connection with wine: the  wine-presser, the one who has it pressed, the one who drinks it, the one who  conveys it, the one to whom it is conveyed, the one who serves it, the one who  sells it, the one who benefits from the price paid for it, the one who buys it,  and the one for whom it is bought." Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Muslim  #4963, Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar "Allah's Messenger said: Every  intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is forbidden. He who drinks wine in  this world and dies while he is addicted to it, not having repented, will not  be given a drink in the Hereafter."

Bukhari  3:509, Narrated 'Uqba bin Al-Harith "When An-Nuaman or his son was brought  in a state of drunkenness, Allah's Apostle ordered all those who were present  in the house to beat him. I was one of those who beat him. We beat him with  shoes and palm-leaf stalks."

Bukhari  8:764, Narrated Anas bin Malik "The Prophet beat a drunk with palm-leaf  stalks and shoes. And Abu Bakr gave (such a sinner) forty lashes."

    Visit Alim..org for more details

The majority of scholars hold that the use of wine and other prohibited things as medicine, is unlawful. They base their arguments on the following hadith:

    Wa'il ibn Hujr al-Hadrami reported that, "Tariq ibn Suwaid asked the Prophet, peace be upon him, if he could use liquor as medicine. The Prophet replied: 'It is not a cure, but a disease'.'' (Muslim, Abu Daw'ud, and Tirmidhi.)

    Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet, peace be upon him, reports that he once said: "Allah has not placed a cure for your diseases in things that He has forbidden for you.'' (Reported by Baihaqi; Ibn Hibban considers this hadith to be sound.Bukhari has also related it on the authority of Ibn Mas'ud.)

    Abu ad-Darda reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Allah has sent down both the malady and its remedy. For every disease He has created a cure. So seek medical treatment, but never with something the use of which Allah has prohibited.'' (Reported by Abu Daw'ud. Among the natrators of this hadith we find Isma'il ibn 'Aiyash, who is considered trustworthy by the Syrians, but regarded as a weak narrator by the scholars of Hijaz.)

    Abu Hurairah narrated: "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, prohibited the use of a harmful medicine, namely, poison."(Ahmad, Muslim, Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah.)

    Using a few, unnoticeable drops that cannot induce intoxication, is not prohibited, provided they are a part of a compound medicine. For example, the use of a small amount of pure natural silk in a woven fabric, as explained in al-Manar.
