    hi i am new to islam and have no mosque to go to.I want to know what is the meaning of the words fatwa,haram and halal.

How long since you embraced Islam? Just asking to know how much is your knowledge. Where are u located maybe there is a Islamic Centre near your city to help you increase yr knowledge.
As for yr questions in simple words:
Fatwa: Is something which has been decided by the Islamic scholars (Alims) unanimously that what is right or wrong for Muslim to follow or avoid.
Haram: What has been told by Allah not to follow or do or eat that is totally forbidden.
Halal: What has been told by Allah to follow, eat or do that is allowed within the limits.
