Actions & Intentions
« on: Thursday 05 March 2009, 09:27 »
This is a very old story my mother used to tell us all, back in those really cold days.

Once there was a King, who was considered a great King - One day the same king lost his way into jungle while hunting. He tried hard to find his companions but to no avail and soon it started to get dark.

Finally after searching for a long time, he found a tiny hut deep in the forest, he knocked on the door and find a pleasant looking old lady standing in front of her, the King told her that he has lost his way and without telling her that he is the King, asked her permission to spend the night.

The Old lady agreed, it dawned on the King that besides the old lady there lives a young lady too who actually was the daughter of the old lady. They both respected the King as their guest and offered him good hot food, a comfortable and cozy bed.

Int he morning, the King woke up and find out that the old lady is gone to milk the cow, when the old lady showed up, she had a big bucket full of milk, 3 Gallons, the King thought.

After the midday she went again to milk the cow, yet again she showed up with a big buck full of milk, so how many cows you got, One Only, the lady told him.

In the evening the same thing happened and the old lady milked yet another full bucket of milk.

Int he night the King started to do the calculation in his head, these two don't need three buckets of milk every day, this is over 9 Gallons of milk way over what these two need, what if I TAX One Bucket of milk, I would get three silver pieces on three gallons per day that would make some 90 silver pieces a month and some  1,080 silver pieces an years. The King congratulated himself on gaining 1,080 silver pieces yearly income.

In the morning, the old lady went again to milk the cow, but came home complaining to her daughter that she didn't get even half what she used to get from the same cow, the same thing happened at midday and in the evening.

While this was going on in full view of the King and the ladies of the house had no clue he was the king the old lady said to his daughter " You know what, I think this has something to do with the intention of our king, you see, since a long long time we have been getting the same amout of milk from our cow, it seems that  the King has generated some kinda greed".

So, ladies and gents, the morale of the story is that greed does mess up things and takes out the barket out of your lawful earned living and "Always keep your intentions honest and in the right direction and ALLAH will give you more that what you have expected".

Thanks,
